My LED Light Therapy Experience

- Beauty

If you guys have been following me on Instagram (here) for a while, you’ve seen my weekly InstaStory of myself at Skin Sutra Medspa, getting LED light therapy. I’m going to be talking in this post about the treatment, why I use it myself, my experience with the treatment and my results with some makeup free before and after shot??  For those of you guys that haven’t heard of LED light therapy before, it is exposure (by a creepy-baby-looking-mask) that emits therapeutic wavelengths of light energy to help treat the skin through the different colored lights.

WHAT DOES LED LIGHT THERAPY TREAT?

There’s a range of colors you can choose from at SkinSutra, all focused on working on different things:

1) Blue Light-

-Clears up existing acne

-Prevents future breakouts

-Reduces acne inflammation

-Decreasing skin oiliness

2) Red Light-

-Stimulate production of collagen (which repairs damaged skin tissue and improves skin texture)

-Reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, scars. large pores, and hyperpigmentation.

3) Green Light-

-Reduces hyperpigmentation, discoloration, freckles, sun damage and age spots.

4) Yellow Light-

-Excellent to treat skin redness, improves oxygen in skin cells, replenishes energy to skin cells and reduces pigmentation.

5) White Light-

-Improves the appearance of sagging skin and promotes tissue strength.

LED is great for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving uneven skin tone, reducing pores size, and brightening the skin.

WHY DO I USE IT?

I like most my age, face oily and acne prone skin. My skin is now paying the price for my “teenage picking years” and I’m left with a lot of acne scarring on my cheeks and forehead. In the past when I tried to treat my acne with medicated face creams, I was left with the problem slightly fixed, but now drastic discoloration in the areas I’d apply the creams. When I heard of this treatment at Skin Sutra, it was if it was made specifically for me.

Non Invasive? ✔️ 15 Minutes? ✔️Clears acne? ✔️ Prevents future breakouts? ✔️ Reduces pores size? ✔️ Decreases skin oiliness? ✔️ HELLO WHAT MORE COULD I ASK FOR!?

MY RESULTS?

The main thing about LED light that you have to know, is it may take time to see results but with consistency, it’s achievable. I’ve set aside a period the same time and day, every day for the past 8 weeks, and I’ve been blown away by my results. Four treatments in, I switched colors from red to blue with just the click of a button, because I felt like my skin needed to reap the benefits that both colors give. This process has put an end to my breakouts (even during my TOM??- you ladies know the struggle), and my skin has consistently been way less oily and inflamed.

THE BEFORE & AFTER:

From the top two before shots, you can see almost a yellowish tone in my skin, a lot of blotchy areas and acne scarring.

In the last two after shots, my skin is all around a more consistent lighter shade with less pigmentation/blotchiness areas. A lot of the scarring

has lifted and I haven’t had any breakouts

Overall, I’ve been super excited about my results at SkinSutra and the newfound confidence my clear skin gives me. At the same time I was getting my LED therapy done, Nicole was having a different treatment done as well, and you can read about her experience with Venus Freeze (here).

I hope this post educated you guys more on the treatment and for those of you willing to get it done, or anything at SkinSutra Medspa, you won’t regret it?

with love, xoxo
