Summer Hair Care with Sassoon Salon

- Beauty, Collaborators

With everyone ditching the hair ties and letting their hair flow loose in the summer, it’s super important to make sure we’re keeping our hair healthy and happy. Sun exposure and pollution strip your hair of essential oils, leaving hair brittle and dehydrated. Naturally radiant and silky hair is something we all strive for, and achieving it may not be as hard as you think. The experts at Sassoon Salon can be your saving grace.

For the past six months, I went through a pretty extreme hair transformation- BLACK TO BLONDE- and if there’s one thing I learned, it’s how to keep my hair strong and healthy despite chemicals, bleach, and sun exposure.

We’re going to be sharing a couple of our tips and tricks from our stylist, Salon Director, Yoshiko Shiizu on how to keep up with your summer hair care. These tips will help you get that “fresh out the salon” look and feel all summer long.

1st – ADD A MASK TO YOUR WEEKLY ROUTINE

Make it a new lazy Sunday ritual to always treat your hair to a mask. Masks have so many amazing benefits like adding moisture, combating brittle hair and split ends, and strengthening you locks after bleach/color exposure. Our hair is especially vulnerable right after color, so I strengthen my hair with a dollop of Kérastase Resistance Masque Therapiste. This mask is ideal for over-processed and damaged hair. (snag it at the bottom of this post from your local Sassoon Salon!)

2nd – EXTRA HEAT PROTECTION

For those of you that continuously blow-dry or straighten your hair, I have the product for you to ensure that won’t cause damage to your hair. Kerastase L’incroyable Blowdry provides long-wear hold, 96-hour anti-frizz control (a MUST for summer humidity), and a 450° thermo-protection. 3rd – HEAD INTO SASSOON TO TRIM THOSE ENDS

This to many seems like the easiest step, just having your local Sassoon stylist snip those broken ends for a new fresh look! It’s instant gratification to a new you! Having a shorter hairdo means it’ll be easy and light to deal with even in the heat of the summer. (Find your local Sassoon Salon here)

4th – HAIR NEEDS CUSTOMIZED CARE

Sassoon Salon is a firm believer in custom hair treatments to keep your hair healthy. They offer tons of different quick in-salon treatments (check them out here).  A Sassoon stylist will recommend the perfect treatment for you based on your hair type and the current state of your hair. Need an extra boost? With some of their Kerastase treatments, you can be in-and-out of the salon in less than 30 minutes with shiny and radiant hair!

Is time of the essence? Want your hair looking and feeling revitalized?

They even offer an instant 5 MINUTE TREATMENT at Sassoon.

*My summer fave- Their Kerastase Fusio-Dose moisture treatment for dry or undernourished hair*

It’s super hard to keep your hair moisturized in the summer heat, so they offer an intensive moisturizing treatment, providing exceptional conditioning and restoring hair to its natural brilliant shine

I loved getting to share some of our summer hair tips with you guys, and we hope you enjoyed it and apply them into your own routine! I would love to hear your feedback on what you do or use to keep your hair fresh and hydrated during the summer!

It rarely happens when it’s beautiful to be both a blonde and a brunette! Could you tell me please, this mask (Kérastase Resistance Masque Therapiste) can be used constantly or does it work well right after dyeing hair?

So sweet! Thank you! You can use it as often as you want and it only gets better. We use a hair mask 2-3 times per week and even sleep in it sometimes!

Hi! It works great anytime. It keeps my color from turning brassy and my hair nourished even long after dying it!
