Genesis G80 Sport – Style Beyond Your Closet

- Collaborators, Lifestyle

When I was first approached to try out the 2018 Genesis G80 Sport I already knew this was going to be a really fun collaboration.  The holidays made it the perfect time of year to travel and visit family, plus my two-door car doesn’t have much space for holiday shopping.

What I didn’t know, was just how stylish this car really was until it was delivered.  I’m not a car salesman.  I couldn’t tell you the difference between powertrain technology and… well anything.  But I can say with the sleek premium leather seats, contrast suede stitching and carbon fiber trim, this car brings fashion to the highways.

Your personal style translates into every aspect of your life.  On my travel days for work, I spend hours a day in my car so it has to represent who I am.  I want a classic color, high-end finishes, and attention to the details.  This G80 was Himalayan Gray with heated and ventilated front seats, touchscreen HD navigation display, and SiriusXM radio so it checked off all of my boxes.  Then there was the panoramic sunroof, wireless charger pad for my iPhone and a puddle light that lights up with the Genesis logo when you approach your car in the evening so you’re not wandering the parking lot pressing your horn button to find it… been there…

My personal car is a two-door so it’s also important to me that the Genesis didn’t feel too big when I was driving it.  The G80 Sport gave me the room without the bulk which I needed for all the Christmas shopping I was doing!  And it didn’t get pushed around on windy days like my little car does.  The advanced safety features like blind spot detection and (my favorite) rear cross-traffic alert also gave me an added sense of security.  Have you ever backed out of a spot in the parking lot and had to slam on your breaks because some jerk is speeding down the aisle without looking?  The rear cross-traffic alert gives you a heads up so you know it’s safe to back out of your spot if you get stuck between two F150s and can’t see around them.  People tend to lose their minds when driving around the holidays (or rain… or traffic… or just Tuesdays…) and I needed to keep my precious cargo safe.  And by “precious cargo” I mean my dog, not my gifts.

Like I said, I’m not a car salesman so there are a ton of other great features that it would be better left to the experts to explain all about the Genesis Experience here.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

All opinions are mine and a very special thank you Genesis USA for sponsoring this post!
